Wednesday, Oct 14, 2020

8:30am – 5:00pm

Practical Asset Forfeiture and Electronic Surveillance for Law Enforcement focuses on the legal requirements and limitations faced by investigators engaged in these activities. Criminals often have many assets that are proceeds from illegal activity. The mission of asset forfeiture is the process of removing the proceeds of crime and other assets relied upon by criminals and their associates to perpetuate their criminal activity against our society. The seizures are typically overlooked due to lack of training and experience. The value of employing electronic surveillance in investigations of some forms of serious crime, in particular organized crime, is unquestionable. It allows the gathering of information unattainable through other means. Law Enforcement Officers need the training to properly & legally handle electronic surveillance and forfeitures/seizures. This course will provide the foundation to and insight on these two highly scrutinized topics.
